Spice Glaze

1 c powdered sugar
1/4 t nutmeg
1/4 t cinnamon
dash of cloves

Combine all ingredients in small bowl and mix. Add 3 to 4 T of hot water to create glaze consistency. Drizzle over cooled bread and enjoy!!!

Spicy Pumpkin Loaf

3 3/4 c flour
2 t baking soda
2 t cinnamon
1 t salt
1 t nutmeg
1/2 t ginger
1/2 t ground cloves
2 sticks butter
2 c sugar
4 eggs
16 oz can of pumpkin
12 oz pkg of semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 c chopped nuts (optional)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees adn grease 2 9x5 loaf pans. Combine dry ingredients (except for sugar) in a bowl and set aside. Place softened butter and sugar in bowl and cream well. Blend in eggs and beat. At low speed add dry ingredients alternately with pumpkin, until mixed. Add chocolate chips and nuts if desired and mix well.

Pour mixture into loaf pans and bake for 1 hour. Cool, then drizzle with the spice glaze above. Bread will slice better after a day.
